DuroMax XPC10050A 50-Foot 10-Gauge Single-Tap Extension Cord

The DuroMax XPC10050A is a contractor-grade 50-foot extension cord built for equipment that deserves heavier wire than an ordinary household cord. Its 10 AWG copper conductors help limit voltage drop, while the single-tap end gives one tool or appliance a direct, grounded 120V connection.

This is the cord we would choose when the job calls for one dependable connection—not a lightweight orange cord stretched farther than it should be. The bright yellow jacket is easy to see around a generator, garage, yard, or jobsite, and the lighted end confirms that power has reached the far end.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can this cord carry 15 amps?

Yes. DuroMax rates the XPC10050A for up to 15A at 120V. Always stay within the ratings of the source outlet and connected equipment.

Is it safe for outdoor use?

Yes. The SJTW jacket is outdoor rated and designed to resist moisture, abrasion, and a wide temperature range. Connections should still be kept out of standing water.

Will it work with any generator?

It works with compatible grounded 120V receptacles. It is not a 30A or 50A generator transfer cord and should never be used for backfeeding a house.

Why choose 10 gauge for only 50 feet?

Heavier copper conductors help reduce voltage drop and heat compared with thinner extension cords, especially when powering higher-draw equipment.

Should the cord be uncoiled during use?

Yes. Lay it out fully—especially under a heavy load—so heat can dissipate and the cord remains easy to inspect.
